Our pill drop box is located inside the lobby of the Franklin Police Department to the left, which is accessible during business hours, Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. You can drop off your expired or unused prescription pills no questions asked. Please only bring in capsule pills and pills in blister packs. You may keep them in original pill bottles or dump all pills into a Ziploc bag to turn in. We DO NOT accept epi-pens, liquids, ointments, and eye drops. You can dispose of needles by asking the attendant for the sharps container. Pills are counted, packaged and taken to be burned at an off-site facility.
CPS InspectionSOfficial Child Seat Inspection Station
The Franklin Police Department is a permanent checking station backed by the Safe Kids Coalition. You may call to make an appointment and stop by to have your child’s safety seat inspected and installed anytime Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm. The certified technician will explain the best practice for your safety seat(s) like the appropriate seat for your child’s age and weight and the next steps. We have a vast amount of educational materials inside our office available in English and Spanish. We participate in the various county car seat checks performed throughout the year as well. A great website is www.buckleupnc.org and it has a list of all the area inspection stations.
