BARS Alcohol Training Program

The Franklin Police Department’s BARS or Be A Responsible Seller/Server alcohol training program is a free workshop designed to provide the owners, managers, and employees of any North Carolina business having ABC permits the knowledge and skills to be a responsible seller/server.
This program is a hybrid class consisting of information gathered from the original BARS program and the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Commission’s Responsible Alcohol Seller Program (ARSP). The program lasts 2 hours and consists of a power point presentation, lecture and open discussion.
The program covers the following topics:
• Sales to underage persons
• Sales to intoxicated persons
• Acceptable forms of identifications
• Fraudulent/altered identifications
• Dram shop laws
• Happy hour laws
• Hours of sale
The Franklin Police Department’s BARS program has been approved by the North Carolina Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Commission. Participants will receive a certificate of completion as proof they have successfully fulfilled the requirements necessary to obtain their ABC permits.
